EMMELI ANDERSSON

PASSION FOR KIZOMBA SINCE 2012

BIO

Five years ago Emmeli fell in love with Kizomba. Since then she has travelled a lot different congresses & countries, and is currently living in Lisbon, one of the biggest cities for Kizomba. She always seeks to become a better dancer & teacher. She was certified as Teacher (Follower & Leader) by Afrolatin Connection in Porto, Portugal. She has been taught by teachers like Paulo and Lanna, Petchu & Vanessa, Albir and Carola, João and Giedre, Isabelle and Felicien, Tony Pirata & Sophie Fox, among many others. She mainly dances Kizomba & Semba, Afrohouse, Kuduro, Zouk, & Tango. And besides that Salsa, Bachata, West coast swing, Foxtrot, Bugg, to name a few. She has experience in teaching Kizomba, Semba, Afrohouse, Salsa, Bachata and Tango. Her biggest passions are Kizomba, Tango & Semba. Because of the connection, the musicality & playfulness in the dances, but Kizomba without a doubt takes 1st place in her heart. For her Kizomba is connection, a family-dance, dancing as one with the music & the partner, the sharing of joy & and love for dancing. And she hope to share this with you.

ABOUT

Giedre and João are Kizomba, Semba, Tarraxinha Dance Teachers, Performers and Choreographers. Together run several Events. Their classes are known as very detailed and highly technical, they focus on traditional kizomba and semba, pay a lot of attention to the Angolan culture, introduce retro music to the classes, teach not only kizomba, semba, tarraxinha, but also they give classes of old school kizomba flow, leading and following techniques, musicality. They created a modern class of kizomba with tango influence. One of their favourite motto's: - "Kizomba it's danced by two people in just one body"

JOÃO:
-"Passionate about dance, love to live life and share moments with good people!"
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Kizomba came into his life in 2007 and these days I say "I love this culture more than my own". Having inspiration’s such as Master Petchu, Kwenda Lima and Afrolatin Connection he has developed his own style! May 2010 he was invited to perform Semba at Africadançar. He's been teaching and performing at several events around the world in more than 30 countries. Organising his own Festival in Lisbon "the LIKE Festival", Toma-Toma Bratislava with Alvaro Gustavo, and LIKE London with Mambo City. He moved to Stockholm in February 2012 and has created the 1st Kizomba Scene there under the name of Kizombafeber along with his current dancing partner Giedre Lapaite.

GIEDRÉ:
Lithuanian girl with Ballroom, LA and Cuban Salsa background. She tried first steps of Kizomba in Vilnius, Lithuania, got very interested in the dance and culture and started to travel to Portugal in order become a good Kizomba dancer. 2011 she met Joao Rocha, who has given her love to Semba and invited her to teach together. Constant teaching with Joao and having a chance to assist Masters like Kwenda, Petchu, Mandela and Jamba improved her following techniques. 2012 Giedre deepened her knowledge of Angola’s history and culture with Master Petchu and Vanessa. She has already taught in numerous kizomba festivals in Europe. 2012 she moved to Stockholm, Sweden, started to give regular kizomba, semba classes and organize kizomba events with Joao Rocha. Her main interest is to teach very well structured classes, to give as much information for ladies as possible to be good followers and to teach right technique, not only to assist.
